Frequently asked questions.
How far in advance do we need to book?
It’s always best to book your wedding cake as early as possible, popular dates can book well in advance, particularly during peak wedding season from May to September.
I work single-handedly and take on a limited number of commissions each year, creating just one wedding cake per week, this allows me to give each cake the time and attention it deserves.
How much will my cake cost?
The cost of a wedding cake can vary depending on the design, size and level of detail, particularly if handcrafted sugar flowers are included.
As a guide, most couples invest from around £475 for a three-tier semi-naked or buttercream cake, with bespoke designs typically starting from £750 upwards. Popular designs featuring sugar flowers and more intricate detail will naturally sit at the higher end of this range.
Final pricing will be tailored to your design and requirements.
Can you deliver our cake?
Ben personally delivers all of his creations nationwide. He will liaise with your wedding planner or venue directly, to ensure your cake is ready for you and your guests to enjoy. We will provide the venue with information about storing the cake, any allergen details, and any specialist cutting methods including the removal and storage of any delicate, handmade sugar flowers. Delivery cost is calculated by the distance from Ben’s studio in Birmingham B24 to the venue and the time required to assemble the cake.
Can we have fresh flowers on our cake?
I am best known for my handcrafted sugar flowers, which are designed to complement each cake with a refined and timeless finish.
I also offer the option of fresh flowers, particularly within my dessert range, where a softer, more natural style can work beautifully. In these cases, I recommend that flowers are supplied by your florist to ensure they co-ordinate perfectly with your bouquet and table arrangements.
Do you offer cutting cakes?
Yes, I do offer cutting cakes. These are designed to provide additional portions while maintaining the same quality and flavour as your main cake.
Cutting cakes are usually kept behind the scenes and allow your display cake to remain the centrepiece, without compromising on the number of servings for your guests.
Can we have more than one flavour?
Absolutely, Each tier can be a different flavour.
Do you cater for allergies?
All of the cake flavours on our menu contain eggs, sugar, gluten, and dairy; some choices may also contain nuts or alcohol. Selected flavour choices can be amended for some dietary requirements upon request, however, our cakes are made in a kitchen where all these allergens are present and Ben cannot guarantee that they are 100 percent allergen free.
