THE PROCESS

Initial Quote

To maintain high standards and exquisite work, Ben takes a maximum of one order per week so we therefore suggest that you contact us as early as possible with the proposed date of your wedding. We also ask that you include as much information about your requirements as possible, including an indication of design, flavours and number of portions. From this information, Ben will be able to give you a guide price for your cake so you can proceed with the commission.

Book The Date

To reserve your date Ben asks for a £150 booking fee. Please note that this booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable as, once paid, Ben will guarantee your date as unavailable to other potential clients.

The Consultation

Consultations are recommended at least six months before the wedding date and take place on Monday or Tuesday evenings. All consultations are held virtually as this allows more flexibility with regards to timings and negates the need for clients to travel to Ben’s studio.

This initial consultation is where Ben really starts to understand the vision and aspirations for your big day, giving him time to research and create bespoke details if required from your dress, venue or decor. After your consultation, you will be sent a detailed design of your cake for approval, or to allow any alterations. Once you are happy with the design and it has been confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.

Cake Tasting

Ben can supply beautiful tasting boxes of cake for two, comprising of the four delicious flavours noted below, These are sent next-day delivery on specific dates throughout the year. There is a £45 cost for this service.

  • Rich Belgian chocolate truffle layer cake

  • Zesty lemon cake with lemon curd and buttercream

  • Madagascan vanilla bean and strawberry sponge

  • Marbled vanilla sponge with a raspberry ripple buttercream

These flavours have been chosen as we believe they give a thorough idea of the quality we provide. All samples are vegetarian, alcohol and nut free although they are produced on premises where nuts are present and may contain traces.
